I just got to 10k Instagram followers in 18 months, Here’s what I found…
I did it! I now have 10,000 followers over on Instagram and I'll admit it, I'M PROPER CHUFFED. I started from ZERO 18 months ago and tried lots of things, some worked and some really didn't. It's been messy at times but also really special. Thank you for being there and here are the three things I learned growing my Instagram account:
1: Sometimes features changing and being added can feel like shifting sands BUT you don't have to do everything. I was curious, tried things out and found what worked for me, so that my approach is sustainable. I tried lip-synching on Reels and it wasn't for me but my IGTV output has been epic, pick and chose for the win.
2: I started using voice notes by chance but found that it helped me get to know my connections so much faster, now I favour them over text messages.
3: I worked hard to grow my IG, it helped me reach an audience, explore opportunities and launch a successful business BUT as soon as I knew what my offer was I started building out across other marketing channels so that my income wasn't Zuckerberg-dependent. Always spread your risk.
To celebrate hitting 10k I am updating my 'Instagram from Scratch' online course. When I made it at 5k it got fantastic reviews and was by far my most successful course I've ever done. Take a look.
