This morning my kid juiced the contents of the fridge singing the first 2 lines of 'God Rest You Merry Gentlemen' over and over with the words slightly different each time. She was happy, lost in the task; in 'flow'.⠀

I found myself interrupting her to correct the words and teach her the next line. It was like pulling the needle off the record and she gave me the 5-year old equivalent of a 'f*ck you!'.⠀

I assumed that her goal was to sing the song the way it was written but I was wrong. ⠀

We can often collaborate with clients and freelancers assuming that everyone understands our business goals and we understand theirs. Because we are clear about where we are going we assume other people are clear to.⠀
