In my first business, Grasshopper Porridge, I had this vague idea that once Waitrose listed us we would be a 'proper' business and have an office and staff and branded merchandise (it was the era when no trade stand was complete without free pens). Waitrose did list us but it didn't solve our problems it just made bigger ones because we didn't have a plan.⁠⁠

There is a massive difference between having an ice-cream van, making a living one pound at a time and building a business that can make money while you are asleep.⁠⁠
