‘When I stopped trying to win I found i loved the game’
Olympian Cath Bishop said this and I really like it. In the run-up to doors re-opening for REALWORK I have been doing a series of free workshops and I miss-fired a bit with yesterday's, We decided to switch the Facebook ads off as people weren't signing up.
I was disappointed that I'd dropped the ball but decided to let go and focus on the people that did show up. In the end 40 people came and all of them asked brilliant, insightful and challenging questions and the session ran over double the scheduled time and was one of the best ones I have done for a long time.
It felt like because I'd stopped measuring it and had written it off a bit, I was free to just be really present and connect with the people in the (virtual) room.
I really, really love talking to women about their plans and ambitions to work and earn on their own terms. I love helping them take action and achieve their goals. It was great to let go of my business goals and be reminded of that.
